Touch-Up Paint Tips
NOTE: Touch-up paint purchased from your dealer will match the color of
your automobile exactly. While third party touch-up paints from automotive
stores are generic and will be slightly off even if you are able to match the
color.
DO NOT USE THE BRUSH THAT COMES WITH THE
TOUCH-UP PAINT!!!!
Instead, use a book of matches.
Take one match and use the "fuzzy" end as the brush.
Dip it into the touchup paint [wipe on edge so it is not dripping]
Dab into the "hole" chip only [try not to get on the rest of the finish]
Let dry ... repeat process until the "hole" chip is even with the rest
of the paint finish. |
Allow to dry completely
[at least 24 hours for best results]

Bumper Touch-up
Many Dealers have special bumper touch-up paint that will be a
better match than using the same color that is used on the body's
finish. |
Depending on the type of repair needed ... whether it is a scrap or
round "chip" the above procedure can be used. Many times with
bumper touch-up it is difficult to apply the paint so that it does not
show. |
